Meet the Captain and Crew
Captain Jeremy
Hello! I’m Jeremy. I’ve been navigating the waters of the Atlantic for over 30 years, far away from the cozy comfort of the shore. I got my USCG Captain’s license back in 2005, and have almost 19 years of captaining under my belt. My very first gig as a captain was leading a group of educators connected to the Audubon Society on a tour. That day marked the beginning of what would become an annual tradition. It sparked something in me, a passion for sharing the stunning beauty of Cutler Harbor and the ins and outs of lobster fishing with others.
My sea adventures began when I was just three years old, tagging along with my dad on his lobstering trips. Imagine that—me, a tiny tot out on the ocean. By the age of seven, I was already rowing out to check my own lobster traps. And then, by the time I was thirteen, I was at the helm of my very first working lobster boat. It’s been an incredible ride, one that’s deeply rooted in my early experiences on the water.
Isabel
Hi, I’m Isabel, a fifth-generation lobster fisherman and a freshman at Messiah University, majoring in Business Administration with a minor in HR and Leadership. Every summer, I fish from our boat, Coast Rider, with my dad and brother. I’ve been hauling my own traps since I got my student license at the age of eight, and I’ve been working with my dad for much longer. When I’m not on the boat, I work at Helen’s Restaurant in Machias.
Ethan
I’m Ethan, another fifth-generation lobster fisherman. I attend Washington Academy as a junior and will be a senior in the fall. I play soccer and tennis and plan to go to school for business and film. Every summer, I fish with my sister and dad from our boat, Coast Rider. I started hauling with my sister at the age of six and got my own license at eight. Outside of fishing, I work as a videographer for True North Media.
“An incredible experience at Cutler Harbor! The boat tour was packed with highlights, from hauling lobster traps to spotting puffins and exploring local wildlife. Our guide was fantastic, making the trip both educational and entertaining. It’s a must-do activity that connects you with the essence of the harbor. Absolutely deserving of five stars!”
